J Six,,  Ok it is not a rat rod "per say"  it is a " Un-Rusto Rod" or an Old Skool Rod,

Or just an old 38 Dodge Truck, made into an extended cab, chassis Z'd in back, dropped front axle and top chopped, with an old skool  327/300 style motor !!!!  oh year we just knocked the dents out, saned a little rust out and sprayed some  "Flattened Charcoal/Smoke Gray Metallic" Paint on it..

So really, I don't know what to call it,, maybe when I am done Y'all can tell me what it is ?

"DIFFERANT"  is what I was after..

Charles

I'm building up a '41 Chevy pickup. When anyone asks me about it, I just call it a Rod.

Either I'm out of the loop or being singled out for special treatment coz I've heard you call it "that truck" , "vehicle number 22" and even  "the thing I'm doing up for you as a favor for being my friend".....all those things but never " a Rod"......

currently on the fundamentalists forum there is some argy bargy goin on about Trucks....

http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=195580&highlight=bobber     ..... apparently , not only are you not allowed to build certain types of "Rat-Rods" you aren't even allowed to THINK about building them......and I thought we beat those people in the war.......

personally I think you should get Mick(with the  green '34 truck) to paint it , I hear he has a new brush. wink wink

oh yeah, your's looks great Chuck.

Charles, very nice looking truck.
It's hard to tell from the pictures, but is your air cleaner cover a WWII French helmet ?
The grenade is a cool touch ...

Steve,, the helmet is WWII  but not sure from where,,when Tommy was trying to drill the holes to mount the Grenade/Nut set up and the 50 Cal clips, it broke 2 or 3 drill bits,,, He ended up using a plasma cutter to put a hole in that hard brain bucket.

It I decide not to run it for long,,, I may take it out back and see how it holds up to a 9mm, .45cal and a .308 !!!

Naw just kidding,, it looks cool, but with my  Team Push/Tow Truck motif, I may add a Super Charger or Gasser hat to it in place of the WWII Lid...

Still working on the lettering/graphics !!  Man my mind is warped... LOL

Cajun, a warped mind is a blessing.

A twisted mind, that's somethin' else.

Now, don't you feel better that you are alright?

Clear your mind. Go sniff some carbon monxide.

Geeze that truck is just too cool!  It has just the right look. Red wheels are perfect.

Now once the truck is done will the Studebaker be next?

Joe,,, 4 Sure,,, all the $$$ and time and attention will be focused on the Stude now,,, 100% (well excpet for getting the Vicky to make a full throttle pass at Maxton in June)  I am not sure if it's a hick up in the ignition or the carb yet.. Hope to get Carb apart and look again... then take to the Chassis Dyno with my Motor Guy.. to get it right before we load up for Maxton....

Other than that,, 100% focus on the Stude,,, Goal is to debut it at Maxton in Sept....

See ya in JUne ?

I will probably be there in June I am not sure in what capacity. Maybe just a spectator/photographer as I will have just begun my radiation treatments for the prostate cancer and I am not sure how I will react to that process.  I did reserve a room today, so I hope to be there.

Today may be the day we can test drive the Truck....The back glass, rear side glass and windshield got put in last night.

The door glass is being a royal pain in the ASTON MARTIN.... Then need mirrors and should be ready....

Motor ran well and sounds good,,, just need some fine carb tuning after a break in period,,, seems like the carb is rich out of the box (like every one I have ever seen)

Like I said on the other forum, the only thing that counts at this point is that you take care of YOU.  Tell us what you need and you HAVE it.

Dan
