Charles, you won't believe what the salt will do to all your bodywork and painting.

Well just bit the bullet and decided to order the entire Glass Shop Front end.

One piece front (fenders, grill, bumper) Cowl Induction Hood is a Pin On and can be "molded/glasses in" later should we decide that we want entire assembly a tilt/removable deal.

Frank at the glass shop hopes to have it to us before the end of the month.

Larry (Rod Crafters) and me plan to get started on the Chassis this Friday. Working out the design and parts list with Joe Timney (Delaware Chassis Works) for the rear suspension.

Joe T at DCW spent some time with me today "s-koolin" me on rear suspensions... Looks like I am going with
Art Morrison Big Bar 4 Link and a Watts Link. Afco compression and rebound adjustable coilovers will finish up the rear set up.

Now I need help on Chute placement/attachment points (will use Strouds chute system)

Should get a few more pics posted later this weekend.

The Morrison setup is pretty impressive; I was surprised at the quality when I got mine for my '53.

Charles.

On the FG hood.  It comes in two versions.  I bought the one W/O the strengthened corners for hood hinges. It comes either way.  Look into which one is best for you.  I think now, although it doesn't really manner, I would go with the reinforced version, I would use hood pins either way.

John, I ordered the heavy weight hood (pin on).. they make 2 weights (street and race, the race being lite version).

It is supposed to have some reinforcements as it has the 6" cowl induction hood scoop.

Ralt.

Hello.

I just wanted to mention that the pictures you posted of your car (nice) were helpful in planning our build (53 Stude-Chevy).

Hi John-Thanks for the kind words. Now if we can slap some paint on it, I might be able to get it back on the road! 130 class for Bonneville is the immediate goal, I think it is a real 170-180 car, maybe more, but I don't want to put a cage in it.

Body is now ready for final sanding and paint once we cut out floor and get it fitted to cage/body again.  Should be another 6 to 8 weeks before we get it painted.. Hope to get back at it after Maxton this weekend,
