Good show Charles, you're making serious progress.  On the Satin Black, it is primer with a clear coat or paint?  John.

John,,, the Satin Black is a PPG Industrial Paint,,, kinda like John Deere Blitz Black,, with an "egg shell" finish so when we add the hardner, it drys as a "satin finish"  Not flat, Not Gloss,,, just a bit of sheen.. but much better than Primer or a "flat" finish.

Click my photobucket link in my signature area below and look for pics of my #806 Vicky..

John, We had a custom front stub made with 9 degrees caster built in  (we have 4 degrees adjustment, so can adjust between 5 and 13 degrees)  will be using IFS   with Stainless Tubular A arms and coil overs Kinda Mustang II  IFS but better. Manual Rack steering.  Chassis is 2x4 .120 wall, Rear suspension will be 4 linkwith Z Bar/Panhard...using AFCO Racing coilovers out back as well.  Cage is 1 3/4  .120 DOM..

I will get some body work pics on site soon...

Winters Quick Change Rear End, Moser 35 spline axles and wilwood rear brakes all have arrived.  We are ready to start the chassis now...

I have not made final decision to repair the front fenders and hood, or to just bite the bullet and get a hood and one piece fiberglass front end from The Glass Shop,,,It is a neat set up...

At todays body shop rates it is going to cost me $1,200 bucks to patch and fix the 2 fenders and hood??

The Glass may be better option,, I have to sleep on it a few more days,,,The Body work on the body is done now and should be in primer by lunch tomorrow.

Don't you like the look of brand new parts before they've been sullied by oil, dirt, etc. :-D

PJ,, I try to start will new clean parts, I hate working on grimey greasy stuff,,,

Terry,,, I only hope this one comes out a good as the Vicky... It is taking a bit more body work than I anticipated,,, but my Paint and Body guy is an awesome craftsman... The next two to three weeks will be chassis mock up and build.

Looking good Charles!!  Nice to see the progress - it has that Vicky look!

What paint/finnish are you going to use on the inside fenders?  John.

Hey Cajun Kid and others :-D

I would encourage you to consider making the steel parts into a one piece front end. There are some advantages to doing that and if you use the approach of a slip out and rotate unit, it will be a lot more stable in the pits when the wind is gusting, too. 8-)

Best of Luck on your Stude projects.

Regards,
HB2 :-)
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

John, Insode fenders and underside will be flat back (under coating type finish)  Chassis, if all works out will be powder coated satin black as well (paint satin black as back up plan)  The paint booth is less than 100 feet from away from the assembly area, so painting the chassis is not a bad option. (easier to sand down when/if we need to weld stuff again later..
