Charles --

Don't you remember?  That was the night you went to the Legends races and someone had painted one up to look like yours.  Quite a tribute!

Terry,

Making progress, should have the body painted and chassis about done in less than 2 weeks.

I was Happy to be a Maxton for the April event and the Vicky even ran well (her fastest yet, with more in her)
But all the time I was upset the Stude was not threre,,, especially when I saw 4 othr Studes there  3 cars and a truck),,,

To make sure the Stude is ready for June,,, I have hired a helper to assist in the chassis disassembly and prep for paint,, and then to help put the car back together and do final assembly.

I PLAN to be ready by June.

Gary,

The plan is to shakedown the Stude in late June at Maxton, if all goes well there, I will take it to Maine and if she can do at least 190 in the standing 1.5 mile ( and still be pulling at the finish line) ,,That would at least give me an idea that I could be respectable on the Salt... Then I would beg borrow or steal the $$$ to get to SW or WOS,, some how some way.  That is the Plan...

I just hope we finish it time for the June shakedown at Maxton,,,, 1 step at a time...

Charles, a dumb question from a bike guy.  Packards, Kaisers, Hudsons, Studebakers, etc are not made anymore.  A person rarely sees the first three or any of the other extinct brands on the salt.  Studebakers have a successful history and they are doing great today.  What makes them special?

Well that is a very subjective question.. If you ask Hooley, Bob D, Gary H and many others you may get a more indepth answer...

Myself, I think the Body and Aero of the 53/54 Studebakers where well ahead of their time. I think they are more CLASSIC  than say a Camaro or Monza... and to be honest,,, they just plain look cool and sexy,,,, It sure don't hurt that the aero of the car makes them a good fast choice for the classic classes, plus not everyone has one... And I like them too..

Take a look, hope you see why we like Studes
