The Satin lady looks good with a little make up. Good job.

Charles Darlin' I don't think it's going to matter what you name her, she's always going to be the Satin Lady to Glen and me!   :-D   She is looking so beautiful, I can imagine how proud you are feeling, especially with knowledge that you didn't take one single shortcut while building her!

Have a great 4th, enjoy your "day off" and I'll see you and your Lady next month!!  Good luck in Loring!

Terry,

We are just a few days from completing the Stude.  If all goes well I should have pictures of the completed car by the end of this weekend.  I hope to test drive the car around the industrial park this weekend, then hope to get permission to use the 5000 ft runway that is about 15 miles from here.

Working on side windows, naca ducts, door latches and final ride height and then weighing and balancing the car.

Next we have to rig up the 44 ft gooseneck trailer to hold the car, scooter and all tools and equipment,,, my current enclosed 20 ft V Nose is not long enough.

FIRST PROBLEM trying to test drive.

Clutch will not work
Anyone know about hydraulic throwout bearing ??

The clutch pedal feels very very stiff.  So before I started it,,, I put the car in gear and pushed in the clutch and the crew tried to push the car and it would not move,, the clutch is not working.

I have a quartermaster  7.5"  twin disk clutch deal,,, I have a wilwood firewall mount clutch pedal/master cyl and a quarter master hydraulic slave/release bearing.

Anyone have any ideas ??

Yes we put fluid in the master cylinder and bled the system.

Must be another problem ????

I had a similar problem with my hydraulic release bearing. 10,000 RPM clutch, Howe bearing. It didnt have enough throw. Solved it with a Coleman bearing. Did you intall per

Check free play and stroke, note the chart re master cyl dia. and bearing movement. In any case since you have clutch and bearing from same source my first call would be to Quartermaster.

Charles - Was the clearance on the slave cylinder to clutch fingers set prior to installation of the bellhousing?  Usually recommended at about 0.100".  If so, was the slave fully retracted when the clearance was set?   Slave bled?   Do you have a clutch stop on the pedal?  Often, if the slave cylinder was overtravelled on the first depression of the pedal, the piston will cock in the bore and not retract. Call me tomorrow am with questions; maybe I can get by to help.     vic

Thanks Vic,

Yes,  we set at .110   and yes we set it before we put in the car... I have no idea about M/C piston or any over travel.   All we did was read and follow the instructions (but to be honest very poorly written and illustrated instructions)

I am clueless on what I am doing here... never used a hydraulic clutch release bearing before...

Charles,
I got nothin on the clutch situation, sure you'll get it. Your car turned out top shelf, fit and finish and attention to everything will pay off at the end of the course. Can't wait to see it at Bonneville.

Did you mention something about a modified roadster build?? :-D
