I hav not got much work done since I returned from the cruise. The time off  and crusie was fun, but I got a bad case of the Shingles and am in a bunch of pain.  Larry did make some progress last week and he painted the body, hood and front end today. We picked out the Red paint today for the Scallops (decided to flatten/satin the red as we did not want it to shiney either).. The paint in the pics that follow is not dry or cured yet... it will not be shiney when dry and cured.

Here are some progress pics since last week.

Roof Rails test fitted

Dash/Guage Panel and Switch Panel and Trans Tunnel re fitted

Floor test fit after powder coat

Larry doing final blocking and prepping for paint

FRESH Satin Black Paint

Eric and Glen,  thanks for the kind words... and yes Glen I hope these darn shingles go away soon,,,  If they don't I will have trouble wearing my seat belts in 3 weeks,,

My left rib cage feels like I have been beat with a baseball bat !!

Well hope to get Motor set back in Chassis by Friday (waiting on new valve springs that we needed to go with new cam)

Charles Darlin'  she is looking so beautiful!!  Can't wait to see her on the salt...they'll both bring out the best in each other!!  She'll have the salt so enamored that it will be nothing but a gentle caress when she speeds down the course!!

Don't let those shingles "stress" you out     obviously, you felt you needed an additional challenge to deal with before Maxton!!   :-o   Get well soon, your "Lady" will be wanting you to race with her!!

Charles, I gotta tell ya, there's one pic that really caught my eye in your last post, and that's the one with the hood on the stand next to the body.  The hood looks stunning, and having the body in the background really brought to life the attention to detail and aesthetic integration that you've brought to this project.  It's absolutely gorgeous.

If it's as fast as it is beautiful, you'll be in need of a new hat rack.

Chris,  I took that picture for the very reason you speak of.. it does show how it all comes together.

John,   glad to hear from you and hope you get back to your project soon.

Lynda,  thanks again for your kind words and support.

Later today or in the morning the last few pieces should be ready at the powder coaters.

(the rear spolier, gurney flaps, roof rails and front inner fenders are all aluminum and have been powdercoated satin black)

Still waiting for my valve springs so Brian can reassemble the heads.

Hope to have engine done and ready to set back in soon.  Once that is done we can lower the body back on, put the rear quarters, the front end and hood on, then tape it out and paint on the RED Scallops, then hand paint the white outlines and numbers.

Lots more to do and not enough time....

Oh well,,,

Charles

Randy, me too,,, I can't wait either.  The plan is to drop the body on the chassis on Monday then put the front end and hood on so we can tape out the scallops and possibly lay down the red paint by Tuesday.  Cross your fingers for me,, it's going to be close getting it all done for Maxton this month.

Joe, I will be ay Maxton for the June meet,,,I have to see your bike in action then too...we are working hard to make sure the Stude is there with me.  You know how picky I am,,, I will not debut it until it is 100% done a race ready.... many have urged me to bring it evenif it is not ready to run so it can be tech'd and such before Loring.  I may do that but our plan is to get it ready to make at least a few 125 to 150 mph shakedown runs.  I would like to make a parachute run too (since I am familar with the track and shutdown) but I guess it's all going to depend on the next 16 days ....

I was still not feeling well today, but Larry and his son Mike got some work done today...

Another milestone achieved today.... the freshly painted body now is lowered back on the chassis.

Down and snug ready to bolt in place

Ready to roll off lift.

What's next ?

MORE WORK,,, but we are still trying to get the Stude to Maxton for the June 26 event..

I hope I have all the parts I need for final assembly ??  what have I forgot ?
