That Stude for sale looks to have some LSR potential,,,, it is even the correct color (except to glossy, LOL)

$6,300 is a bit more than I would want to pay for that set up, unless all the body and floor panels are in GREAT shape... hard to tell from the pic.  But seems to be ok deal for someone wanting a good base to start from, paint job may be to nice for some   ...

I never realized how old these Studebakers are.  The aero looks good for an early 50's car.  My mother had a Citroen with similar aero in the late 50's and through the 1960's.

I just hope that the aero is good enough to do what I need it to with my lil "E" motor.
Until the rubber hits the salt we will not know for sure....all we can do is try to think through each apsect of the build,,,, not all cars are equal,, and I hope we are up to the challenge and have not forgot something important.

Charles:  Not to hijack the thread, but where are you going on your "out to sea" boat ride?  A scenic tour of the French Broad River?  A cruise on the Pee Dee Basin?

Well, it's certainly going to be a bitch'n looking car! What kind of HP is the lil "E" motor going to put out? My good buddy Greg Everitt's stude went 206 with a 600HP  "B" motor but I believe he could have gone faster before the engine blew.

I think Greg's Stude ran as a Comp Coupe with a B motor,,, his car a bit more aero than mine.. I would have thought he could run over 225 with his HP and Aero set up,,

The Bonneville Tune on my Stude with my "E" motor should have 550 to 570 HP at the rear wheels.  My goal is 215 on a 212.xx record. I may never get there,, but that's my goal,,,

Charles, you've hit it on the nose -- you've got to have a goal.  Whether you'll get there or not is only a small part of the game we all play, but having a goal (a realistic one, by the way) allows you to best monitor your progress and enjoy the steps you end up taking to reach that goal.  I've got one for the nitrous bike, Nancy has one on the production bike - and whether we achieve those goals this event or this year -- or not -- we've got something towards which to look.  So do you, and it's all good.
