JD and Robbie,

Robbie, the fixed chute mount as you reccommended is not really the problem,,, the wheel on the push bar is only a few inches past the rear spoiler, so I would have had to deal with the overall length of the trailer anyway. The V Nose trailer I have is long enough, but my internal ramps and tie downs are in the wrong place for the Stude... The Trailer was bought to haul my street rods.. 33,36,38 and 39.. all of them are much shorter than a 53 Stude... So when I put roll away tool box and other stuff in the nose it makes it tight,, real tight with the Stude.

JD, I have my eye on a 45 Foot triple axle goose neck,, it has unfinished room up front for all the tools and work space/living I would need.. just hope to find the extra cash to buy it by April.... May sell one of my other cars to cover cost of finishing the Stude, buying the new trailer and travel costs to Bonneville.

Charles..

PS.. Robbie,, what time ya'll getting to Greensboro this Saturday ?

JD,,

Well I try to do it right... but sometimes we all have to improvise or get more creative,,, until cash is available I will use my 20ft V Nose enclosed trailer,,, but as soon as I can going to get the gooseneck.

We have had 3 Snow Storms last few weeks and my Studebaker is 40 miles from me snowed in.  No progress in 2 weeks. Headers have been done for 2 weeks, but the road and loading area at the shop where it is now is so wet we can not get a truck or trailer in there to load up... Hope to get it loaded up and back here to finish up.

It is looking like Maxton in April is going to a long shot (unless I get some more help....soon)

At least I can run the Vicky in April (but that was not my plan or goal)

Oh well,,, The Thrash will continue as soon as the weather clears and the ground dries..

Charles- I really feel for you, as I know what it's like to be trying to get your car together and you figure you will barely have enough time to do the job, then WHAAM something has to pop up to make it almost impossible. I can't even relate to how many setbacks there must of been with a project of the magnitude that you are undertaking. Your project looks awesome and I am sure it will be a bullet when it runs.
I wish you the best of luck and smooth sailing from here on out.

Thanks Lynda and All,

Yep she is back in the shop ready to get finished,,, Today convinced me I have to have a longer trailer... and lower or longer ramp door... the darn driveshaft loop hung up on the ramp...man the frame is LOW... that's good however cause that means most of the weight is low too.

Oh well,,

Rock and Roll is what we have to do to get her done....

Works is progressing,

Should have the final fit of the front end, hood and radiator in next two days.

Then we can lift the body off and get SERIOUS with the final cage welding and paint.

It's going to be close for April,,, May is a No Go as I will be out of the country for 10 days... So I want April bad, cause June seems to far away.

More pics and updates soon,

Thanks to all for your interest and support.
