2009 SCTA Rule Book
« on: March 05, 2009, 06:52:08 PM »
The new rule book is out and has updates and changes. The team of volunteers that got it out in a timely manner deserve a big thank you and good job.
As there are several changes please review it to assure your build or present vehicle is current. Some rewording was done to clarify and define the rule. There is still time to question anything regarding the rules on the SCTA web site.

So - is this the date we should use to start the countdown for the tubes, the rulebooks, the buttons and badges and posters?

Is this when folks will start being cranky because the tube broke open at the post office and the mailroom now has a nice poster and all the racer got was a "this package damaged in shipping" sticker?

We all look forward to the new rulebook - and everything else for the 2009 season.  Hoo-boy, it's getting closer by the day.

Any idea when I can expect to get my rulebook?

In the mean time, can anyone help me with a couple things as my project is going WOT and I need to start planning ahead for parts.

1. I want to run a 1975 Chevy Monza with a gas turbocharged 350ci V8 geared to go 200mph. I am building my own aero devices on the nose, sides and tail. What class should I be running?

2. Can I use a plain plastic fuel cell like Summit sells?

3. What fuel line materials can I use? Braided stainless over rubber?

4. Tubing thickness: 1 5/8 DOM at .120"  ???

5. Drag racing frontrunners on all 4 corners?

6. Home-built wheels from space saver spare rims?

Thanks guys! I have finally dealt with the rust on the floor pans and I'm ready to move on into the fun stuff!!!

Richard, there will always be multiple answers to your question, "I guess I'm special, UH?"

First, don't argue with your wife when she states her opinion.

If Ed offers an evaluation........start drinking early that day and let him chatter until he falls asleep.

Ask some worker, that does not speak English, to tell you what Ed said.

Your parole officer has his own opinion but you will never get him to express it.

If you want my opinion, bring the money and I'll tell you whatever you want to hear.

If you build a new car, I'd suggest that it not be a lakester. Seth, Tanis, Jeannie, Lee and ED all want more records.

That's a tough tribe to invade.

John, Richard lives in a world of illusions.

Send him a picture of the rule book and he will be armed and dangerous.

I should explain that statement ...he is only dangerous to himself and ED.........I mean Tonto.

The High Desert Racers were given their 2009 rule book at the March meeting. Some guys who couldn't make the meeting had a friend pickup for them........  I guess it would behoove  SCTA Club members to attend at least the March club meeting or have a friend there to represent them..  Whoa what a concept!!!!!!

There has to be a box or two of books for the SDRC somewhere in San Diego by now. I can't believe that you don't know the changes. Changes were posted on the Internet, sent to clubs and changes to the changes discussed at board/reps meetings and sent to clubs. Maybe you should become a little more social John.
