I live about 50 miles North of Las Vegas and have seen a Large increase in police activity on our roadways. Yes it is true that due to the budget shortfall the highway partrol as well as metro have been told to increase traffic stops. I was told by an officer that they are now ticketing for anything 5 MPH and over the speed limit rather that the previous 8 MPH over. Our local Napa store has been flooded with people who have been pulled over and ticketed for a daytime running light or licence plate light which was not working. So slow it down and make sure your lights are working. Unless you would like to donate your money to the  government. We all know that they can spend our money more wisely than you can. grin

In the early 90's, enroute to SpeedWeek, my car was giving me fits (turned out to be crap in the carb) and I couldn't get over about 60 MPH and it would start missing. It was getting dark so you could see the headlights of trucks overtaking us at 90 MPH from way back. Next thing I knew a Nevada State Patrol was along side of me signaling for me to speed up. After some hand signaling back and forth, trying to indicate that I couldn't go any faster, he finally zoomed off. That is the first and only time I had a cop tell me to go faster. Pretty wierd!

The key is fighting them

I fight my tickets as well after a friend told me about Trial by Written Declaration.............of the last two I fought I won one and lost one............I got both tickets on the same day on my way to El Mirage 30 minutes apart. The ticket I lost I was not even close to being guilty and the one I won I was as guilty as could be........shows how good our system is...........
