Maxton is a COOL venue, make no mistake, its own
unique awesome venue, and opportunity to go fast

Joe, you are mistaken when you say we are only on the juice for 120ft.  Yes, it is true that we are measured at both 132' and 66' then at 0'.  But on a 24 second run, I am on the Nitrous for 19 of those seconds.  But you are correct, Maxton is not the Salt and vice-verse.  Your 1-way record of 226mph is and always will be a feat never repeated.  You did that all on a 1000cc machine, totally incredible.  But if you want to compare aples to apples we can't.  You run the Salt, and I love the concrete.  Suffice to say, what ever records I am blessed to survive here at Maxton are just that, records at Maxton and they can not be compared to the Salt.  But speed is speed, the sooner you can achieve it, the more HP you were able to stick to the track.  My 1 mile of concrete traction can not be compared to the lack of traction of 5 miles at the Salt.  So when I do break your 223 mph average and your 226mph 1-way record, it will have been done with a 200+lb rider in just 1 mile and it will be a 1 mile record at Maxton. Not a Bonneville record.  I'll still be faster, but our methods to achieve that speed will be the only difference.

So bring the nitrous king of Bonneville to Maxton and enjoy the traction.  You can even get in 6 - 12 runs on a Saturday, you know, for the practice.

right on Guy, cool stuff

but remember, at Bonneville we are on the
nitrous for the majority of 2 miles before
we are even to the first timed miles,
and usually then maintain the speed for the
next 2-3 miles, so around 3-4 miles on nitrous

take your 19 seconds which would be about what
it would take to get you up to speed, then at least double it to get you through the first timed mile, and likely triple it to get you through the second timed mile, and if you still didnt get enough traction,  or need more toom,  quadruple it to get you down the entire Bonneville course

if "coastin" is going in and
out of ruts made by big hp
cars, at over 220,  then yes,
thats the easy part of running
 Bonneville

Well joe and Guy you could both come to lake Gairdner  in Aus  where you run the salt and get 20+ runs a day if you want, best of both worlds , but ssshhh don't tell everyone  LOL
personaly nothing beats running mile after mile at speed potently habit forming  :)

Ah, gentlemen, thank you very much.  I've now heard two very different methods of nitrous application - from what I, a brand-newcomer to the sport of "pushing the button", have done.  I'm still new enough that I've only lost one motor to the bottle.

One run at Maxton - the first nitrous in my life - so I'll look forward to making more runs there and seeing if it was just luck - or a serious way to go faster, faster.

And then there' s Bville, where I learned the art of holding the button for a mile and a half and was rewarded with  1 1/2 miles of wheelspin last fall.

I'll figger it out soon.  Thanks for the stories on your experience.

I stand corrected on the art of coasting.
