Tiger Racing Post $500 Reward at Maxton
« on: May 23, 2004, 12:57:00 PM »
Tiger Racing will be giving out  $500.00  to the Fastest Nitrous Only Motorcycle at the end of the Maxton Season.

Who so ever is the fastest Nitrous only bike at Maxton at the end of this years season, will inherit a check for  $500.00

That's right,  $500.00  , so you better get your tune-ups done and your bottles filled, because Nitrous Land Speed Racing ain't for panty waist riders or machines.

Jim Owens of Norway, Mi., on his ZX-12 already took $250.00 of my money, anyone else feel lucky this year?

Of course, I plan on paying myself but stranger things can happen.  Just ask Jim on his green machine.

Sorry, no turbo's or Turbo Nitrous, Just straight Nitrous bikes need come and play.

I wonder if Joe could take the turbo off and retune and get the bike out to Maxton and back -- for $500?  Nah, probably not.

We're going to Maxton to watch and volunteer this weekend (29-30 May) and also to check out the speeds it'll take to put that check in my bank account this fall.

Make sure you stop by and say hello.  I want very much to help support and promote LSR in all venues.  Turbo's are fast becoming the fastest thing on 2 wheels.  But I just love the juice.  I can ride my big bore motor around all day long and press a button when I feel like it and go fast.  I'm hoping that 230 can be achieved using N2O.  I'm sure if I can break 226, I'll put Joe's record to bed.  I'm feeling lucky, see you at Maxton.

real men and women maintain their
speeds for a "minumum" of 5280 ft (not 60 or 120 ft)
on 1/3 the traction of pavement

"bring it" to the salt, lets see the
bottle for 3-5 miles, and peak speeds for 1-3 miles

Don't worry Joe, your 226 one way is still safe.  Your right about the vigors of the salt, it's brutal I hear.  But I do like the constant full 1 mile of traction where your machine can show you what it's got in a hurry.  Why don't you bring yourself to Maxton and feel real torque and traction for a full mile.  As far as real men and women are concerned, I'm sure it's fun to coast to a stop on the salt rather than braking hard from 200+ in just 2,600 feet which is the other half of the battle at Maxton.  But since I've never done the salt, I'll never know the fun in coasting.

Good luck at your next event.

And this discussioin, gentlemen, reminds me of why I like to race at both venues.  Each has it's own fun, I get to gather it both ways.

I look foward to seeing you in a couple of months, Joe -- and Guy, I have every intention of showing up for the June Maxton "Bonneville Tune-up" event.  Maybe I'll take you up on the offer of your bottle valve protectors.

Coasting is safe and relaxing, why squeeze on the brakes hard and scream like a little girl??
 No pun directed..

they may be faster for 120 feet, not for 5280 ft

have to compare apples to apples, meaning,
bring the nitrous king of maxton to the salt

max power, max speed, nitrous flowing for 5280 ft
vs 120 ft, some may find it a bit different

Maxton is a COOL venue, make no mistake, its own
unique awesome venue, and opportunity to go fast

 Joe  :)
