I got this and the picture sent to me ( Motohistory Quiz )

What is it? Here are a few hints. It's not an auto and not a cycle, but maybe both. It hoped to be a good soldier, but got shot down five times. It rolled like a cannon and sold like a bomb.  And some information about size might help.  This is no small part.  It is about three and a half feet long.

I'm not sure but I had one removed from my colon once....
The doctor said it was the second time he had ever seen one... The one you have, must have been the first.

You need to read deeper into that little poem, he is trying to confuse the simple mind. He is saying its not Auto and not Cycle, but maybe both think about it

Hmm . . .

When I go into my garage and stumble across a 42" long piece of metal that has no apparent use, that I can't identify, even with the help of a riddle, the only word that comes to mind is scrap.

Okay, maybe a big HEAVY piece of scrap.

he didnt find it and he doesnt have it.... he found the riddle on another furum and posted it here in hopes we can identify it so he can act like a hero on the other forum.... go away blow bird

I cheated and looked it up on the internet.

I must say, it's an interesting story.  I don't want to spoil it, but none of the guesses so far are right.

It's a classic case of "Just because you CAN build something, doesn't mean you SHOULD built it." 

It's a piece of automotive (going by the true definition of auto-motive) history that has no useful application, it's just strange.
