Norwegian landracing

Hi.
I'm not sure where to post this, but I try here...
I am trying to start a landracing compitition in Norway. I have a 1,9 mile long airplane strip I can youse..
But the problem is that we have a accosiation that runs all kind of compitition, both cars and motorbikes and they don't want to try somthing "new".. And if I call a Norwegian insurance company they just tell me to contact the accosiation that runs the comititions in Norway.
Would it be possibel for me to youse a insurance company in the US? Maby the same they youse on Bonneville?? This is if I youse the same rulebook as you do in the US..

Hope you can understand this, my english is a littel rusty..

It is possible that the SCTA would grant you permission to use their rules. That's up to them. Perhaps one othe SCTA officials that posts on here will comment on that.

As far as insurance goes, I've done some research into companies that offer insurance for race tracks. There are links to them on this page:

Some of you who post on this forum from the U.K. might have some information regarding

The thing is that if I try to get this compitition going with out the norwegian automobile/ motorbike accosiation I am not abel to get incurance for the event.. I don't think that there is aney law in Norway that is aganst this form of racing. The law just says that there should be incurance on the event along with license on the driver and car/ motorbike...
I think the law is diffrent in the U.K.

Happy New Year everyone.

Just back from my annual trip to Coniston Water in the Cumbrain Lake District to remember the exceptional absolute speed success of Donald Campbell on water (linked with some of his land experiences).

I have made contact with Are to see what type of event he wants to run and where the racers will come from and to see what insurances he will need.

UK insurance companies will cover many activities if you come to them with a large enough cheque (check) book to pay the premiums.  Perhaps its beacuse most underwriters are linked to Lloyds of London and that organisation has written insurances for many LSR and WSR.

If plans proceed well Slim may have to have a section on the forum for the Viking Timing Association.
