BioDiesel as a fuel-What Class?
« on: December 09, 2004, 12:13:00 AM »
Question... I currently run the ASTM D-6751 rated version of Biodiesel (B100) not the homebrewed stuff. There obviously isn't a class for B100 in the Diesel classes. When I looked at the 2004 rulebook under "2B Fuels" it has a vague sort of an answer which states that natural gas, lpg and diesel fuel may be used in the "Gasoline Classes". This seems outdated since there are obviously separate diesel vehicle classes. The best analogy for biodiesel is "Nitromethane Blends are to Gasoline" as "Biodiesel is to Diesel".

There are fuel classes and gas classes for the same engines. So I think there should be a classes added for those who run 100% biodiesel instead of the petro-stuff. But thats me... So what do you think? I'm a complete newbie.... Can I run in "/DT" with my truck or is it possible to petition for a "/BDT" class?
