Bob Sights
« on: December 25, 2008, 01:24:18 AM »
I see that a Bob Sights continuously appears in the LSR web sites.  Is this the same Bob Sights that used to run with Mike Whitmers S/C altered ??  This is John that used to run with Gary Jennings S/C comp coupe, & S/E TAD.  I'm gathering parts for a back motor 27 roadster, & want advice from someone that has knowledge of what is going on, although, sometimes we wondered about you.  Anyway, if wou are, give me a shout.

John,

I don't know if this is the same Bob, here are a couple of email addresses for Bob and his wife Judy.

This sentence, "although, sometimes we wondered about you.", makes me think he is the one.

Dan:

"sometimes we wondered about you."

If jwyer is talking about the Bob Sights I'm thinking of -- the one more commonly known as Prozac -- the one that dies his hair and polishes his toenails for SpeedWeek -- there ain't no wondering about him!  We know for sure that he's got an interesting sense of humor and a great willingness to entertain his fellow racers.

Merry Christmas to one and all -- especially you and Joanie, Dan.

Bob and Judy sights are easy to find.  Just look for two of the hardest workers at any El Mirage or Bonnevile Speed week.  They are two of the greatest ambassadors for S.C.T.A.  Be warned though, they are tough to caatch up with and when you do they'll put you to work!

Hey, you won't be able to pick on  Prozac next year, Kaara and I found his brain, washed some of the dirt and hair off of it and returned it to him!!  Not only that, but we found the brain bucket as well, now he has his brain back, won't use it, but has it anyway!!

Shoulda seen his face when we handed that little squishy gray thing to him!!!!  Judy laughed until tears were running down her face!!  It was a Kodak Moment!!   :-D

Next time you see him, ask him to show you his brain!!

Hope everyone got their wishlist filled today!!

Merry Christmas!!

I think the Bob Sights that used to run with Whitmers S/C altered is Bob Sights Jr., Prozac's son.

Hi John-
Long time no hear.  What are you up to these days?

Yes, it's the same Bob Sights.  The one you're referring to is Bob, Jr.

Glad you're looking into land speed racing.  You'll enjoy every minute of it, just as we did at the drags...

Hey Nick - long time no see, or hear.  Not by choice, Gary & I parted company on 7/6/05.  We ran his TAD at the 4th of July Super E race in Fontana.  Two days later, he was shaving in front of the bathroom mirror, & had his first, & last heart attack.  Hit me a lot harder than I thought it would.  He left the racing stuff to me, & it was released by the court 3 weeks ago.  I'm not kidding, 3 1/2 years tied up in probate.  Sold the drag race stuff.
Anyway, haven't done much since then, went to El Mirage, said I can do this.  Gathering parts for a G/GMR.  Been trying to contact Bob, I have his phone numbers, but so far, answering machines.  I want to know where he got the nosepiece for his car.  I want one.
Keep in touch.
