The black 554 roadster burned up in that huge fire in Oakland quite a while back. Soloman and Hartzog have built a new car, same number, same generally small displacement classes and still run.
Treit and I met them on the road by Pendleton, Oregon in 1968 on our way to thesalt. His square back VW had a flathead stored in the back and a shoe polish message on the side window........PRAY FOR GOOD SALT.

That's an ongoing prayer and is still relevant today.

When I raced with the Young Bros we had good fun the red roadster. That car is the old Brissette Bros/Quincey Auto car that was pitted next to us in '63 when I was with Paul Stanely and Bob Noice. Paul Dearth got in the club with the Brissette car that year and I was hooked. Tom Evans, Chief Motorcycle Inspector, now has that car after getting it from the late Tom Eiden who got it from Keith Young when we started to build the '39 Chevy coupe.

To make the world smaller, in the Peek Bros picture is the Jerry Kugel Modified which went to Gordon Hoyt then Glenn Miller. Who has the car now? Why Keith Young of course.

I think so. I think that Tim had it before Seth did. In the picture it has a Pinto 2.3 4 cylinder in it.
