Freud, I askedthe local photo shop guyy-- who makes a living doing enlargements of historical photos, etc --and he uses his Epson 3270-- says that while it'll scan to 3200 dpi -- that 300 is good enough for most of his customers. I've got an older 3170 -- will gie it a try one of these days.

I remember being in line at ElMo and his car is pushed up behind me..I look over and the car is still fitted with working power windows.

Buddy Martinez, the second man to exceed 200 MPH on an open bike and one of his Eyeball engineering masterpieces. The only problem was that it spit him off. This was 1975.

When Lindsey and Leggitt ran the 333 a couple of years ago, I was at the starting line when they fired it up, pretty easy to tell that it had a pretty good load of "soda pop" in it and I asked one of the crew what the percentage was and he responded wiht 72%. Which probably explains why they only ran to the 3 mile. Still one of the most awesome cars I have ever seen run.

Great shot of Buddy in the pits with his bike -- and a proper wrench!  Note, of course, the ominous-looking puddle of black stuff under the rear tire.  We see once again why the "tarps under the vehicles" rule was enacted.

Slim, ya gotta forgive Buddy for the oil slick - it was a Harley.

Freud, thanks for the pictures of Buddy. Consensus on the bike unloading might have been from the quick and dirty bodywork by Doug Kruse filling up with air and like a kite, flying the fromt end.

Yrs truly was at the announcing stand waiting for a time when Flanders, in his typical nonplussed attitude asked the far end  "You mean he's down cousre, or just Down?" or words to that effect.

That event is how and why the picture posted sometime back  and hopefully now again came about.

I was there with the Eyeball  Swift streamliner which I drafted the frame and put in a few hours on but we never met.
