Are there 4 carbs on that blower?

"Got'Cha" was first run in 1974. Bill Temple entered both 2 clubs in 1976 with records in AA/BGR. At El Mirage 201.79 and Bonneville at 220.

In 1977 Greg Temple started driving "Got'Cha" and entered the El Mirage Dirty 2 club in 1979 @ 201.97. Greg went on to set two records at Bonneville, one in 1981 at 241.848, then in 1991 he set another record at 262.230

Bill and Greg were the first father and son to enter the El Mirage Dirty 2 club. They broke the D/BFR at Bonneville in 1981 @ 241 with top speed of 249. This record still stands today. In 1991 they set the A/BFR @ 262 which was later broke by Duane McKinney.

Thanks Freud. The reason I asked was it looked like you could see the mountains in a little gap below the scoop just above the left fuel line, so I was wondering what caused the gap.

Looks like a Hot Wheel -- big engine, big tires and wheels, little body.  Probably (surely) very fast.

Found some more old pics today, Quality not great but i thought some might enjoy.
first pic, is it me or is that blower mounted vertical huh

Hot Rod Deluxe, May 2011, page 58, in the article on Eric Rickman's photos of August 1958, has a picture of this (?) engine, captioned, "August 15: Greg Sharp I.D.'d this strange dyno setup as Kent Enderle's personal approach to supercharging a Chrysler Hemi, recalling it running at El Mirage and Bonneville.  We're no sure what the theory was behind the right-angle drive for the 6-71, but note what looks like a prototype for the Enderle "Barn Door" injector on the blower's intake side."

I do wonder what ever happened to Bill Wirges?  Those were some great times on the salt for sure, here are some pictures from the same time frame, speeds at that time were in the 270's or so..

Getting ready for a run... Mike Devlin and Don Vesco yakking in line...

Down at the 10 mile marker, I think that is Bruce Flanders standing by the van. Probably a record run.

More to come

Here are some goodies from 1970, with Don's 252mph (I think) twin Yamaha 350cc Streamliner and also an early Dennis Manning Harley streamliner, the one that Cal Rayborn rode at 265mph to take the record from his good friend Don just a couple of months after Don put the record over 250mph, great fun!

The Yamaha twin 350 original streamliner.

Dennis Manning sitting in his liner, looks like they are in line

The twin TZ 750 version of the Streamliner, the "Silver Bird" with one of my favorite cars, Fred Larsons beautiful liner.

Enjoy, I am having fun with my new 35mm scanner, I have a bunch to share, watch out!  grin
