Please note the large yellow X at the end of the runway when he begins his run. This denotes a closed to aircraft runway, no longer of interest to the FAA.

That's what first drew my attention, hence the questions.

You can drive like that... start by stealing a car, or just rent one and let Freud give you a few lessons, oh, if you rent, take all the insurances...

El Toro MCAS. In Southern California. Now belongs to the city of Tustin and the city of Irvine as well as the County of Orange. Main runway is approx 12,000 ft. Someone is operating a driving school or something. Use Goggle Earth and look at all of the skid pad and tire marks. Your tax dollars hard at work.

Very large balls on the Segway guy.

El Toro was decommissioned in 1999. 2 - 10,000 ft and 2 - 8,000 ft runways. It was shot down for airport conversion due to noise problems. Good luck holding a race there!. Scheduled to be torn up to make the Orange County Great Park.
Well, it used to be Los Angeles . . . 50 miles north of Fresno now.
Just remember . . . It isn't life or death.
It's bigger than life or death! It's RACING.

Yeah, I will deffinately take all the insurances because when I'm done learning I'm sure there won't be much of a car left.   :-o

Lots of tire smoke-- but that doesn't equal fast lap times. "Diifting" is simply show business, not racing!

I agree, but it's still pretty cool.

It would be fun to do if someone else paid for the tires.

Interesting video! I had also wondered where it was shot. The driver was very good except for what looked like a slight brush of the K rail.
