« on: October 27, 2008, 11:52:49 AM »
I see that the ECTA Results for this weekend are up already on the ECTA web site.

http://www.ecta-lsr.com/?page_id=111

Again - great work by Tonya, Donna and Deb.

Wish I could have been there this weekend . . . .  :-(

I don't think I can say it often enough, or to enough people, but my sincere thanks to everyone at ECTA for both a  great October event and even more so for a great season. We've had what most people would probably consider a pretty successful first year in this new (at least for us) game, but none of it could have happened without the help and guidance of Joe, Keith, Donna, Tonya, Jon, Nancy, Todd, Deb, Mark, Dan, Al   and a long list of others. You have inspired us, encouraged us, and most importantly embraced us into your community. On behalf of myself and my crew chief Don Verdiani thank you SO much. We'll be back in 2009 with new "stuff", new dreams and new goals.

That's not funny Freud!

Ok (after multiple stops all the way up 95), we made it to another hotel unfortunately because the road was just a little too rough and I didn't want to end up in her condition or for hers to get any worse.

At anyrate....
As soon as we got in the room Deb got the results (as promised) posted up on the front page here: http://landracing.com/ and then passed out again... we'll do an early up thing and get back on the road and see about getting her straight to work if she's feeling any better.

The front page results should look something like this...

Last ECTA event of 2008 has came to a close and the results are in.

The East Coast Timing Association's 2008 October and season end results:

Interactive runlogs: http://www.ecta-lsr.com/events/2008/October2008run_log.xls
Records this meet: http://www.ecta-lsr.com/events/2008/Records1008.php
Points standings: http://www.ecta-lsr.com/events/2008/Points1008.php
Current ECTA records: http://www.ecta-lsr.com/Records.php

There were 117 entires: 55 cars & 62 bikes
Approx. 380 runs total: 75 on the rainy saturday & 300+ on sunday
Top speed of the meet: 238mph by Bill Warner on his naked busa

From the most humble 45 year veteran of the salt with a great big smile and time to talk to everyone, to the 2 year old first timer to see anthing like this and light up like a smiling light bulb when an engine fired up......... so many of the absolutley best people, friends and racers in the country were on hand.

Thanks to all those (on both sides of the registration sheets) that were so patient in allowing mother nature to finally shine thru and let us all do what we all ove to do.
Many fallen racers were missed deeply this meet, but they were there in spirit that could be seen thru every racer's and volunteer's eyes throughout the pits and the startline.
Awesome weekend for sure...
Todd

Debbie, thanks very much for doing the update for the results - when you weren't feeling well.  I had put them into the forum - and was very surprised that you got them to the home page.  I will admit to fixing one typo - and won't tell anyone what it might have been.  Better to let them all fully appreciate your committment to the site.  Get well soon, both of you, and then I'll tell Todd about the little "ooops" moment Ihad when dropping the trailer in front of his shop.

Just so you folks don't think I'm keeping my goof-ups all to myself:

When I parked our trailer at Todd's shop the other day - I placed it on a bit of a hill, I guess.  I'm not in the habit of paying attention to the angle of the dangle, so to speak, and therefore didn't bother to think.  I put the landing gear on a couple of blocks of wood, as I usually do, and then cranked 'til the coupler lifted off the hitch ball -- whereupon the whole trailer rolled back a few inches, off the top two blocks and crashing down on the remaining one, which shattered.  At that point, with the rain beginning, I wasn't in a modd to dig out the hydraulic jack from the pickup and try to put the trailer back on blocks, not knowing that Todd was sick and wouldn't enjoy the task any more than I would have done.

So I left it like that, and now am suffering great pangs of remorse and anguish.  Well, not too much, but a little.  Glad you laughed at my sloppy style, Deb.  And I'm glad it isn't morning sickness.  I've heard that lots of women don't suffer from it during a pregnancy, anyway.

LMAO JW,
Once I get to it (IE: Deb get's it off the ground now that we've found she's not "with ankle biter"  :-o whew!), I'll weld a good foot on it and add an easy access set of wheel chocks so that won't happen again.

Yeah, well, Maxton, Bonneville, and my storage barns are all level -- so I don't think about chocks (almost typed chicks, and I do think about Nancy, so it wouldn't have been too much of a lie).  Anyway, I've got good industrial rubber chocks that I could use -- just forgot to think about needing one.
As for the landing gear -- on my old trailer I installed landing gear with wheel and crank-down -- and a locking pivot that let me swing it down for use and 90 degrees up (to horizontal) for travel.  Lots less cranking that way.  Get 'em at your local Lowe's, I expect, or trailer accessory shop.  A foot is just as good as a wheel, now that I think about it -- the wheel just invites the rig to roll away when on a hard surface.

Finally -- my daughter turns 37 today.  My granddaughter turns 23 days today.  That's close enough to a baby in the household from my point of view!
