Engine Class Break question
« on: June 29, 2004, 02:45:00 PM »
Page 14 - 2004 rule book - Engine Class Break chart.  Ok, we are considering running in the J class and using a 750cc motorcycle engine.  The chart says 31 to 45 cubic inches and it says "Approx. Liter Equiv." "0.51L to .75L".  I did the math.  45 cubic inches is equal to 737.42cc.  and I determined that 750cc is equal to 45.76 cubic inches.  So my question is if I show up with a 750cc engine (45.76 CI) is it legal for the J class?   Thanks  Art

Each engine class break is allowed .99999... ci. at the top. The top of 'J' class being 45 ci. you are allowed 45.99999... ci to stay in class. If the motor measures out at 46+ ci you are too big for 'J'. The SCTA-BNI will not reclassify a vehicle after it has made the first run. Your responsibility to properly class your vehicle.
