I hope all of you have a safe, but mostly fast!!, weekend.  I'll get my salt angel out (think it will work for there from here?) and wish for fast and dry!  All of you take care and good luck!

Slight departure schedule change... If it is not raining here at 8:00am (Friday)  I am taking my Orange 39 Chevy Coupe in a HotRod convoy to Goodguys at Lowes Motor Speedway.  The Truck and race Trailer is 90 Packed and Ready for Maxton,, Will either leave and Drive in late Friday Night,  or Get up early Saturday Morning..

Most likely I will be at Maxton by 10:00am Saturday....

See you all there, safe travel to all in route...

Here we are, at the nice Crack Whore Motel in Laurinburg, and it's a cloudy and cool Friday morning.  I haven't checked the weather on the NOAA site yet -- and Weather Channel doesn't give particulars for right here, other than to hint it's not going to be warm and sunny.  We'll wander to the track within the hour and see what we find -- and I'll let you all know.  I went for coffee -- and decided right then and there to switch to a long-sleeved race t-shirt.  What does that tell you?

Team Gustafson is holed up in Denton NC.
We spent the day yesterday touring NASCAR garages and planned on touring the swap meet at Lowes Motor Speedway today. The axle snapped on the old studebaker and in still amazes me how far and fast a wheel can travel when it leaves your vehicle.
In a couple of hours the boys will have it fixed and we will head for Maxton.
We'll bring the sunshine with us.
See you all then.

It's about 3.15 PM and we're sitting in the gentle rain here at the race track.  We inspected a bunch of bikes this morning -- mayb ea dozen-and-a-half -- and I was down to having Nancy hold the paperwork while sitting in the covered golf cart -- and I stook in the rain, inspecting and dictating the comments.  Wayne Pollack at least figured out the secret to getting a quick inspection and approval  --  he held his umbrella over me while I was doing the bikes.  Thanks, Wayne.  Nice looking Harley on nitrous, too -- all-aluminum bodywork.  I'll be sending some photos along tomorrow -- too rainy and cloudy today for good picture-taking.  For sure you've gotta see the single-cylinder blown Harley -- front cylinder is the pump, rear hgas a spark plug.  Interesting plenum, silencer, etc.  Wait 'til tomorrow for that photo, too.

Lots of new work on the race track -- the brush at the end of shortr shutdown has been mowed.  We don't have the shrubs to use as a visual guide any more, so will have to learn to see the cones.  Note to Debbie:  Watch for the cones!

I just looked at NOAA radar and see the rain is likely to keep going for a while, so I'll sign off, read a few osts, and then go back to that NICE C-W motel.  No ugly ones for us, Stainless.  We've got some standards...

Wayne's stuff is always well constructed and interesting. Would like to see the photos. I am still under the weather and agonizing over missing the last Maxton meet of the year.

Yeah, Joe, we missed you out there this afternoon.  Rain, cool and cloudy and clammy -- I'd have been happy to have you inspecting so I didn't have to spend all of the early time doing it.  Worse for them -- Todd and Debbie did second shift inspecting, quitting when it got dark.  Still raining, even colder -- yes, you were missed.
