Ballast on bikes
« on: October 17, 2008, 04:28:59 PM »
I have some questions about ballast on bikes. I'm just starting to build a 2001 GSXR 1000 into a dedicated LSR bike and wondering about how much weight to add to the swing arm. I can fill the sucker with lead but how much is enough and how much is too much?
Thanks,
Jim

I think you will get a more accurate answer if you say how much hp you plan on having.

Well, it used to be Los Angeles . . . 50 miles north of Fresno now.
Just remember . . . It isn't life or death.
It's bigger than life or death! It's RACING.

I'm thinking that it will put out around 150hp on the salt. The swingarm will be 4 inches longer and as low as I can get it. I only weigh 155lbs. I'll start reading the other thread. Thanks!
