Question on September G/BFSS Record
« on: October 06, 2008, 09:51:34 PM »
I saw the following two record entries for car 9617 at the September meet.  Is the 2nd entry an error or did the car actually swap between a 2 and 8 litre engine?  That is a real nice bump for AA but seems a little unrealistic for G which was at 152.065 I believe.

9617   AA/BFSS   MRM Racing   Mike Reichen   221.422
9617   G/BFSS   MRM Racing   Mike Reichen   220.513

ECTA allows running smaller displacement engines in larger displacement classes.  Mike's signature "1 fast evo 2" says it all.

Talked to him briefly in staging.  Didn't happen to get a read on future class plans but do know he is not out of ideas on how to go a lot faster with those motors................

Well hopefully he won't pull off the blower(s) and put the unblown G class records too far out of my reach!  Of course that Evo cand run in the GT class with that back seat so...   :-D  Look forward to meeting up with him and the other G class runner I haven't met yet, Michael McGill, at the October meet if they attend.  What do you run RidgeRunner?

I had the good fortune to spend some time in the pits with the McGills.  He runs a Honda CRX with an Integra engine swap.  I would expect that it is also legal in G/GT.

The EVO is really impressive.  By the way - it can be street driven.  They probably would have picked up a few more records but had to replace the trans Saturday evening.

Milton,

Not running anything again yet myself.

Currently tag along and play go-fer on the 260 REMR.

Helping a buddy build a F/B [2.3 Turbo Ford] lakester for the near future.

Ran a bike at B'ville '71 and '72.  Digging one out of the cellar and having another go at LSR if things line up right is always in the back of my mind for the more distant future.......

Charles,

Yes you did.  Driver is the one that really likes the grits, ran in the fuel class to stay legal

Hope I can get down again end of the month for a final speed fix before the snows come.

                        Take care,

Yeah but the "grits" saved his bacon during the trial.....

Good thing them ole southerner's in the movie did not use instant grits or his timeline would have benn blown.

See you all at the end of the month....

Milton p- I won't get the pleasure of meeting you at Maxton this oct. due to the fact that I am going down to run at the Texas mile.

And yes the car has a 2.0 liter engine in it so I started in the g class . Since I didn't have enough time to make more runs due to a bunch of little problems and 2 fairly large problems( no 5th gear and the damn computer I borrowwed was flaking out) I just jumped up to the largest class there was.

Don't worry I will not be removing my turbo anytime soon(well I won't remove which ever turbo I have on the car). Actually all I need to do is pull the turbo, swap to smaller injectors and load a different map into the ecu-- hmmmmm?

Oh I didn't mention to anyone but there is quite a bit left in the car

Hope to meet you next year.

Cajun kid: I was right behind you in staging 1 time at the last meet but between getting my car ready and when you showwed up you had to get your car ready and run, there was no time to talk. With all the problems we had me and my friend John just didn't have the time to go wander around and talk to everyone like we wanted to.

Oh ya I already have the f class record so I need the a- e classes

Also just so you folks know my car can't run in anything except super street or production supercharged due to it being all wheel drive.

Hopefully someone won't decide to put the car together the day before they drive half way across the country to race.

Look forward to seeing everyone again in April, and this time hopefully we can make the dinner for once eh Mike?
