FIM "Type" ?
« on: October 01, 2008, 07:23:01 AM »
I can understand the FIM`s Category/Group/Division clasifications.
In the rules "Type I" is shown as Internal combustion, spark ignition, naturally aspirated,(Partially-streamlined)...
"Type V" is shown as Spark ignition,(Streamlined)...
However when you look at the FIM record listings on the BUB site, there are a number of naturally aspirated sit on bikes listed under "type I", and a n/a Hayabusa listed as "type V"...
Am i missing something here, or is "type I" for carburation, and "type V" fuel injection ???

Looking at the BUB FIM Flowchart,  I do not see a Type V engine classification listed.

Type I is internal combustion, spark ignition, naturally aspirated.

Maybe Type V is for rocket/ jet bikes.....hence no listing due to insurance issues?
