biglady112's LSR 1989 Dodge Colt
« on: September 30, 2008, 03:40:59 AM »
I have been into Dsm's for seven years now. I have been a drag racer for the better part of the past nine years. After attending WoS 2007, I think I am starting to get hooked. I have been helping with car 4663 for most of the year. Now we are to the point where we can get serious about my turd.

This car is one of 1500 made by mitsubishi. 750 went to mitsubishi, and 750 went to Dodge and Plymouth. Mine is actually a Plymouth. It still has the factory 1.6L 4G61 in it. Will roll over 125,000 miles before to long. Car has been a blast over the past year owning it. It currently is running mid-high twelve second passes at 5880ft here in Denver. Not too many things done yet, but hopefully '09 will bring us some luck.

Not sure if I want to run in any classes just yet or stick with exhibition passes. I care more about a timeslip at this point in time than the tons of records available. Time will tell. I am 26 years old now and have started what appears to be a life long love with LSR events. Both on pavement and the salt. I say pavement as we attended The Texas Mile this year as well.

Car is currently geared for 216mph with a 23.7 inch tall tire. This car also runs on E85 ethonal.

As a DSM'r myself i can appreciate that.  What turbo comes on that car stock?  If you ran a 12 with something smaller than a 14b thats even more impressive.  If you ever want to upgrade to a 2.0 i'd be interested in the crank from the 4g61.

Good Luck!

I know for a fact I can run on the short mile course. Just have to do a little more work with the water tank. But this is a build thread right? Not done building yet. There is obviously lots of safety equipment left. Motor and powerwise, not much left to do there. I wanted to get the car running like I want before we invest in that.

The valve cover is just there for show. It fakes everyone out. It is a mitsubishi through and through, just with a dodge badge and VIN.

Me thinks he should attend a meet at Bonneville with a camera and a large note book along with his build pictures. Talk with the inspectors and look a lot of cars and how they are built. The plumbers tape hold down on the tank got my attention. Do you have a 2008 rule book Steve, either SCTA or ECTA?

What kind of speeds are you getting in the 1/4 mile, 102-105?

Above he says ..."Car is currently geared for 216mph with a 23.7 inch tall tire."...

Me thinks there something more than Mug Rootbeer in that can.
