September 2008 Maxton Meet
« on: September 26, 2008, 11:09:16 PM »
We teched from about 2:30 today until dark. Literally until dark, we finished by flashlight. We have about 15 bikes left over to tech in the morning from tonight. We gave out numbers so they can hit the front of the line. We teched until it was dark. BTW Guy if you're reading this, we went up to number 34 I believe. I initialed the ones I gave out. We should be starting somewhere close to number 18. We're hoping to be out around 7-7:30 to get on teching as well. I expect a bunch more bikes. This is the big Super Streetbike Shootout so there's some jackets on the line along with the usual shot at a record.

This is shaping up to be a big meet with some heavy hitters showing up. Charlie is here pushing for 260. I hear Lee Shierts is coming as well. hmmm. WildBro Bill is here with the naked beast looking for a big number and I hear whispers that there may be some bodywork stuffed in his trailer?

Sad news from Maxton.  Terry Russell just called.  Bike down at the end of the track. Rider didn't make it.

Nice shirts... hopefully they will continue to remind you of the good times on the salt with my kids, Johnboy and me not to mention the thousand other new friends.  BTW kids, World Finals is next week, how's the ailing checkbook?  Probably get y'all a pass on the bike open, or try for a 2 with the fairings on...

Oh now you had to go and say it... and publically even!!!
I'm for sure out for this year! I'm tapped on vacation time. If you can find a way to smuggle Todd out there & get him in a shared expenses room I might let him go!  Anyone driving out from the East Coast?  :-D

They will definetly continue to do their job & we will wear them proudly! You know what kind of impression that place left on us! ;)

Todd, if you can get to Wichita Saturday morning or Denver by Monday at 2 you can ride with me, or SLC Tuesday by 11, (boys arriving 1030 on SW Air, they have a car rented, they return Sunday afternoon) or catch a ride with an East Coaster, Room cost is fully covered...
How's that for feeding the addiction... sorry Deb  :|

Deb and Todd.  Tell Jerry it was a pleasure meeting him and seeing his Car.  He did a great job with the Sedan... It was cool to get a pic with us and the two Old Fords together.....

Can you send me a copy of that pic to my email?

Thanks
