GT class Factory air dams apply to year model only?
« on: September 23, 2008, 12:44:41 PM »
Can the factory dealer installed optional Rocker pannel and front spoiler designed for the IMSA Racing program in 1988 for Corvette C-4 be used on a 1995 C-4?

The rules  State: :" Air dams and air spoilers identical to factory optional equipment for the  body in question may be added."

I don't think so. Mainly because a 1988 "C4" body is quite different than a 1995 "C4". Underneath they may be very similar and share the same basic platform but the bodies changed significantly in 1991 and since the body panels are completely different you would not be adding a spoiler "identical to factory optional equipment for the body (1995) in question".

Also, that kit may not be legal even on a 1988 depending on how it was offered for sale to the public. Just having a GM p/n is not enough.
