The OSU folks have buttoned up the liner and some of 'em are taking off.  I may not have this connection much longer.

I will transmit as long as I am abl......

Ack Attack has joined Hess at the mountain end.  Course is locked down, waiting for favorable winds.

While we're waiting for more from Ray, here is a link to a 2006 four-minute video that was created by Eric Darby, called "Hot Rodding is Dead". I think you and your families will enjoy it.

That is a preliminary report, the bike didnt get very far down the track from the Report I have. This is what was relayed to me.

Lifeline helicopter was requested, Dont know any more then that. But he is out and talking fine.

There will be NO more runs for today.

Ack I know plans on running in the AM.

I just barely got the same info on Leo Hess.  He was transported to Land's End by ambulance and transferred to yet another ambulance to await the Life Flight copter.  Confirmation of injuries, but conscious and alert...although hurting.

Prayers would be appreciated, I'm sure.

No photos from me.  I was (and I still am) at the other end of then track.  I'd only be guessing, but wind may have had something to do with it.  Don't take that as "the whole story," though.   I'll find out what I can when I can.

I'm gonna sign off now and head back to Wendover.  I'll be back on asap.

Geez, that's a problem with these top speed vehicles -- they're so darned high-strung that it isn't that hard for something to go awry.  And in the case of the bike liners -- well, we know that they're about the most difficult lsr vehicle to ride.  Leo has our thoughts and prayers with him.

We're in SLC now -- and glad that Jon Amo was able to get some information to you folks.  I expect that Ray's wi-fi link via OSU ended, but I know what motel he's at -- and they've got internet, so maybe he'll post more later tonight.

In the meantime -- recover swiftly, Leo, to run again another day.  We're all on your side.

Being new to LSR and not knowing the players I find myself a bit lost from time to time.  Yet, whenever I hear of an accident my heart leaps into my throat, I have a feeling of sadness and hope and pray for the best.

Here's a little article on Leo Hess from the Bub meet:
