MDE, what was the cause of the fire, a oil leak or other?

Here are a couple of photos of the Missile while in the trailer and being gone over by SCTA inspectors:

Glad to see that he's doing well. Kudos to all who keep this thread going. I feel like a blindman being fed by caring friends. Thanks for taking care of all of those without the ability to see it personally. We live it vicariously through your eyes and ears. Without you, we would have to get our information from the mainstream media who's only interest is something that involves a ball of some kind or some act of violence. Thanks from all who have followed this thread. Doug

LOL. I am one of them.

Don't take this as the gospel truth, but I think Sam Wheeler started a run but shut down early.  It was either that or he got to the mountain end of the course and decided not to run...maybe because of wind...I dunno...but he didn't make a full 2nd run.

And...here's the photobucket album of day 2 of the Speed Demon's rebuild by the Poteet and Main crew.  Man!  These guys have the frame and inside of the liner looking like there never was any fire.  The body skin on the other hand...well, it's still crispy on the outside (soft and chewy on the inside?  Don't go there.  I must be gettin tired...I'm even goofier than normal.)
