And Nancy and I are right here. Just got a tour of the Burkland transporter. We;'re heading to town for a couple of minutes -- everything is on hold for at least an hour -- likely 'til 3.30 PM Mountain time. Hess wants to run, Wheeler is hoping to find the oil leak, Burkland is having a meeting about what's next, Poteet/Main are waiting to run if the new parts get installed.
We'll be back soon.

I'm in the Midlands of England - great job by SSS and photographers. Just can't watch at work!
The FIA Diesel record would be the target that still stands in A - III - 10 to the Thermo King (235 mph and change). Has the Mormon Missile team achieved a new FIA mark? I seem to have missed a few pages since last night and during today? [If they take Andy's record then JCB may have to sell some more back hoe diggers and mount a new challenge].

Glen, CB? Now, that's real old school technology - all kidding aside, I'm looking forward to hearing your familiar voice again! Willi

Pardon my ignorance, but what would cause the wheels to come off the ground like that? Heavy braking, causing wheel hop? Under heavy braking, and it was HEAVY braking, the first good bump starts a pitch and yaw motion that is evidenced by this picture. Notice the gap where NONE of the wheels were on the ground. And the freeway comes at you fast! This picture would have been better in the other direction to show that enormous highway berm that is GOING to stop you.

Well, it used to be Los Angeles . . . 50 miles north of Fresno now. Just remember . . . It isn't life or death. It's bigger than life or death! It's RACING.

Do u suppose there are any gearheads on the Space Station?
Anyone in the Houston area know how to get an e-mail to them?
That would be a first. A post from the Space Station.
This thread has had 8400 hits in 3 days. Good traffic.

On 9-27-08 we lost a great friend and fellow racer, he was the BEST, he helped anyone with anything at anytime. His name is Dave Owen and he will be missed by all that knew him and I am glad to have met him.
Seeing him at Bonneville during 2008 Speedweek was the tops, Dave was in awe of the salt and as usual was there helping out anyone who asked..simply put we lost a great man who will be missed by all. J

As fantastic as it is having this thread to follow, and Jon's superb commentary, over here it is getting late, so I wish all the best for the rest of today, and will catch up tomorrow! Hope the guy who got burned is ok.
