Anyway, runs should resume soon.  Akatiff's bike is staged, Rocky is suited up, the crew is filling the intercooler with dry ice.  5-8 minutes is the forecast.

SSS, If its possible could you get a pic of the intercooler that uses dry ice.

Thanks, Bill

Bill,

The intercooler tank sits below the seat of the ack attack.

goto the photo gallery and you can see how it was made and location, there are a ton of pictures there and you will have to sift thru them to find it. There are 700+ images there on the initial build. There have been changes but intercooler should not have changed.

Burkland car is running.  That ATV is really fast compared to most that I've seen.  It hauls.

Canopy is down, car is moving.  You oughta see the way they set up the pit.  I'll try to get photos of the organised cornfusion.

Little chute opened, big chute did not!  Booking past the pits at about 100 (it looked like).  Tom revving the dickens out of the motor trying to get into lower gear to stop it.

Darn near locked 'em up trying to stop.  Stopped about a quarter mile from the zero.  LOTS OF EXCITEMENT!

Got some photos.  Engines still running in the car!

Looking on the course now for the parachute bag.  Mormon Missile next in line.

Engines wouldn't shut down, so Tom waited -- then made the decision to stick a fire extinguisher into the air scoop, squeeze the trigger, and that stopped the engines.

Sure hope it was CO2 not powder!

Controlled mayhem down there -- I'm not going to pester just now.

I hooked the halon extinguisher in our truck up so it sprays inside the intake as well as both sides of the engine.  So if we can't kill the engine, the halon will.

I just got connected via the OSU net.  I've been doing a whole lotta shots and editing this morning.  I'm putting some of the shots on photobucket thing now.

Some stuff I've heard this morning...it might be redundant, but who knows?  Poteet & Main are waiting for the UPS truck with some coils and other parts.  They've built another layer onto the bulkhead behind the driver.  They're gonna run a naturally aspirated motor...I think 2200cc and hope to break the record that Honda set with their $$$$ F1 car.  If you didn't know that it had burned you wouldn't be able to tell by looking at the frame and motor compartment.  They've done amazing work.   Photo attached.

Wed am pics:

Gotta run...Burkland just came down the track REAL fast.  Stopped about 1/2 mile short of I-80.  Couldn't shut the motors off.  Sprayed CO2 or Halon in the intakes to shut it off.  Got a lotta photos.  Heard he ran over 400 exit speed.  Didn't know I could jog for a quarter mile any more.  Guess so.  More later.
