OSU's wifi went down for a bit. Just now got back on.
Buckeye Bullet aborted run.
Burkland completed turnaround in 45 minutes, ran back up the course. I don't have the numbers yet, but the consensus seems to be that they got the mile record, but not the kilo.
More as I get it.

I extend my hearty congratulations to the whole Ack team. What a fantastic effort! Shame for Sam. Looks like the Speed Demon team had lots of fun, as are the Burklands. I can't remember the last time their car ran so many times! My thoughts go to Leo and his team. I hope Lynn is recuperating well. Thanks to Jon, Nancy, Ray and Debbie for letting us indulge this week. I have been itching to get home from work so that I could log on and catch up with all the excitement.

Buckeye Bullet is back in the pits, thrashing to get another run. According to a crew member, it just stopped accelerating a mile into the run. They don't (or at least he didn't) know why at this time. In the photo, they're pushing it off then trailer, back under the canopy for a post mortem. Burkland has requested permission to do a victory lap. And I don't know how the numbers got crunched, either. RtR

Congratulations also (I thought I did this already but I guess not) to the Ack Attack team and the Speed Demon team. Lynn and Leo get well soon!

Ray the Rat, My name is Ryan Hall. I'm the night city editor and Wheels reporter at the Great Falls Tribune. We have been following the Burklands (Gene and Betty live here) all week and want to place their new world record on the front page. I've already talked to Betty and just need a photo. Would there be any way you would allow us to use one of your photos, with proper attribution of course, for tomorrow's Tribune? Contact me at rhall@greatfallstribune.comThanks for your great coverage this week. (Please note this site was referred to in today's Tribune story) -Ryan

The record was 405.976 Al teague in 02
this is the engine class 10 (FIA - SCTA it would be A) record Al set in 2002 - did Burkland run only one engine? Al run in 91 - when he set the 425 mph record - in engine class 11 (FIA - SCTA would be AA). Is it perhaps in the mile? I show the 425 record in the Kilometer. Wayno
