Button tools on driver side of the car, near the roll cage.
What's the location? About the 8 1/2.
Fire 2 is rolling.
Keep your cool
All patrol leave enough space for emergency vehciels to get close to work. All patrols stay 100 feet or so back.

Cris Shearer reports driver is out, has smoke on helmet, seems okay but give us a minute.

Lots of white smoke coming out -- watching closely.

Nice speeds, hope he and the car are OK... J X2

On 9-27-08 we lost a great friend and fellow racer, he was the BEST, he helped anyone with anything at anytime. His name is Dave Owen and he will be missed by all that knew him and I am glad to have met him.
Seeing him at Bonneville during 2008 Speedweek was the tops, Dave was in awe of the salt and as usual was there helping out anyone who asked..simply put we lost a great man who will be missed by all. J

Nothing new to report -- waiting to hear. Looks like fire is out for the most part, vehicle is reasonably okay, driver has some minor burns, not sure what they'll need to do with him.

So I come up with the two way average at the mile of 315.224 and the Kilo 316.+ Any idea what the record was? Speculating that they ran faster on run two that should set them up for a record?

Murf, I don't think, from what I've heard, that the car will be able to make a return run.
Average Speeds:
kilo 315.861 mile 314.108
Those speeds will be new records pending approval and certification (this came over the radio while I was typing).

This sounds like it should begin with "This is Howard Cosell reporting from Bonneville-- just telling it like it is..." This is great on-the-spot reporting, guys! Thanks, Neil Tucson, AZ
