They did a pole a few years back in which they asked if the bikers would rather see the rider name or the make of vehicle. Make of vehicle won. Don't recall who did it or where, I just remember it being asked & seeing the end result. I guess there's not enough room in the printed rulebook to have team, rider & make all listed.

The ecta database has all of this information for historical purposes but it's also not listed on the run logs. We do have the data of which vehicles have run since 2003.

admittedly got on this tread late and haven't read other replies . . .(sin of the month?)

I would think the Excel spreadsheet (seems we used to get this from SCTA?) is by far the best.  Providing, of course, one is fluent in excel.  It allows for sorting/filtering by any column heading.

I definately want to see what the vehicle is/was  . .  .

thanks to whoever figures this out and ol' sss, too.

But that's not the case on the web postings. It's a disservice to the rider to not have the name listed. The make and model is important so that the rest of can relate to the run and performance. These guys are heroes that deserve to be recognized in the fullest manner possible. The race organizations need to realize this.

Imagine NASCAR results without the driver name!
Well, it used to be Los Angeles . . . 50 miles north of Fresno now.

Isn't it surprising how much we demand of people who volunteer to feed us info?

I say take what we get and be THANKFUL !!

We are asking for more info than we would get if we were there.

Oh YA, let's have it when the timing slip is printed.

Why should we have to wait?

I agree.

On the other hand, if there were improvements that could be made, why not?

The information exists in the computer for most entrants before they even enter. After 10, 20 years of running the same class with the same driver can it be so hard?  #335 is Jonny Hotnuts, just to name one. His number and information isn't likely to change anytime soon.

This is the computer age, and it just takes a little effort to make sure that what is entered is in a format that is easy to put on a web page.

500 entries? How about 1,200 Boy Scouts for a weekend Camporee with two doing data entry is all it took.
We gave out hundreds of awards on Saturday night two hours after the last event with little effort. A little planning in advance is all it takes. The results were on the web site the next morning. There are so many computer literate people these days that all you have to do is ask for volunteers.

You would be surprised at the geeks out there. Rick Yacoucci looks like a pig farmer from Iowa (Just kidding!) and showed up at El Mirage with laptop in hand working on the network. (Heck, he runs fast. He can take a little kidding.)

This is the information age, isn't it? Or was that last decade? The more information we can get the better.

How about if the inspection sticker has a barcode with all the info that is currently on the entry records. Then the starter can zap the barcode with his scanner, all the info is then transmitted wirelessly to the tower and anywhere else that needs it. The announcer cannot make any mistakes then, and all vehicles are accounted for correctly and the data would already be in a database with no transcription errors.

All it would take is a few thousand for equipment and programming. Seems pretty do-able to me.

Don an Dean:

I just checked and there are flghts from Seattle and LA with seats available.
There are also rental cars in SLC.
Why don't you both just go to Wendover and send the info the way you would like it?
I'm certain that all of us would appreciate your input.

Otherwise I'll just wait like everyone else and be happy for what info I get for the small amount that I pay.

I feel guilty for that small amount that I donated when AMO owned the site. My contributions to

Wennerberg have been even less. Hindsight is bustin' my lips and I deserve it. Maybe the rest

of you did a better job than did I.

Paypal, take my newest donation to Landracing.com, preaze.
Now I won't feel so guilty for lusting for a freebie.

My wife reminded me. I had to pay to watch Ali vs. Liston, and i just had to know those results also.

Freud, of COURSE I am grateful for the information presented on this web site, and will contribute to the new Jon just as I did before.

My suggestion was for the front end data collection, and has nothing to do with now it is presented.

Don and Dean:

Thanks to each of you for the comeback.

This is a presentation problem that is most difficult.

Our support people are working their tails off just to get the info to us that they can.

Impatience is normal. Gratitude is appreciated.

Danm, I too wish I was there. Palm Springs just doesn't hold a candle to a freeze your "tush off"

race morning. 80F at Bonneville is " off the perfection scale."

KAZ, I don't have Excel and I get the results on my Mac.

I certainly don't hold AOL as excellent, but try this.

Sign on to AOL.
Open Landracing.com.
Go to Debs new spreadsheet that has the results.
I would hope you could see it as she posted it.

Just a suggestion but it may work for you.

KAZ...anyone can sign on to AOL. You do not have to have an account. Just access AOL.com and it will open.

Keep on plugging and when the next door kid gets home from 4th grade this afternoon, give him a cookie and he will show u what u need.

My neighbor kid wants nitro for his weed whacker. He doesn't even care if it's fresh.
