Scooter builders - piston info?
« on: September 05, 2008, 12:09:23 AM »
I'm looking for a source for 72 millimeter pistons.  I suspect there are bikes with slugs this size, and as I need to order custom rods anyway, I'm thinking I can shave a few bucks off of my engine build by using an over-the-counter piston and having the rods bored to fit.

Until I sort out the height of the piston, less any machining I might have to do to the face, I'm at an impass.  I'm looking for a reference that would include all the dimensions of the pistons, and at that point, I can then calculate my rod length (stop laughing) and if, or how much, I'll have to shave the deck.  Manufacturer is unimportant, but I suspect Kawasaki, Honda and Suzuki make bikes with bores about this size.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Chris

try giving wiseco performance a call.

Honda VFR 800 uses them. Actually a 782cc engine.
