conditions of El Mirage
« on: August 31, 2008, 08:56:38 PM »
Just wondering if there is any news regarding the lake bed at El Mirage? How is it looking for the September meet?

Thanks

Sheri,

We have a Club meeting tomorrow night, and I'm sure we will get an update. I'll post what I hear.

It will be at least 3rd hand and not admissible in Court!

Sheri,

Not much was said. Jim Knapp had talked with George Calloway yesterday or the day before and George had mentioned that a Filming Crew had been out there and had torn up the shutdown area a little, but no more info.

Course Prep is scheduled for tomorrow so maybe someone from the Lakers or Milers can provide an update so we don't have to rely on 2nd or 3rd hand information.

Sorry I didn't get anything more.

Tom

.02" at 4:00 p.m. No rain before that.

Big bands of rain on the way there right now. Rain possibility through Sunday.
Well, it used to be Los Angeles . . . 50 miles north of Fresno now.
Just remember . . . It isn't life or death.
It's bigger than life or death! It's RACING.

Looks like the lake bed got .17" of rain, anyone know if this little amount would cause standing water.  Supposed to have a little bit more today.

.17 probably will not.  We stayed over and ran some on Monday and the course we found, south of the course we used Oct 26 and angled more southerly on the east end, seemed pretty good.  I'm not sure if SCTA is willing to run there though since it gets kind of close to the wind sock.  The point is, there is good dirt out there still.
