TFA Going to Maxton in Sept. 08
« on: August 26, 2008, 09:01:48 PM »
Howdy, a couple of TFA (Team Fat Ass) members are planning a stealth mission to Maxton at the end of September!!!!

Curious what to expect the conditions to be like? Temp? Wind?

Also curious on how big a showing there will be? I have heard they have a Magazine Street Bike Shoot Out event. We are hoping to get a few runs in each day.

We are rather large, myself around the 250lb mark, so we will be happy running around the 200mph mark or maybe a little touch more.

Both myself and our team Pres./Founder Entropy will be running Y2K ZX-12s, green of course!

Anybody else going out that way? Met some real nice people last time, hope to meet some more.

Gary,
September should be a little cooler then the June meet. June is traditionally our hottest meet.
The "bike" meet is one of the larger/largest meets of the year. Bikes run fast but newbies have
to run slower to license up. The shoot out will attract some newbies as it does each year. You
should still be able to get a few runs in each day but plan to spend the bulk of your day in line
to get the runs in.

Looking forward to seeing TFA again! Y'all are some good peeps! Of course Todd & I will be there.

Deb

Gary, make us big guys proud... run straight, run fast, run safe....

I hope Deb is right, June was   REAL DARN HOTTTTT...

I will be there with my car (guess car guys will be a minority in September). Hope to get a few runs in each day. (only got two runs in on Saturday in June, but could have maybe got 3, but the heat and the excitement of my first meet/ race in 16 years got to me)

Will for sure know much better what to expect and know that will help.

One thing I can tell you,, The ECTA folks are all class acts, from the powers that be, to the workers, the other competitors and even the fans... just a great encouraging, supportive, racer family atmosphere...

Welcome and have fun,,,

Fun is free.... Record Runs may not be ... LOL...

Gary,
Caj can fully qualify for the 4 wheel chapter of TFA! He's a big ole teddy bear with some awesome 4 wheel hot rods! ;)

Deb, if my leathers and other bike gear still fit, I might would make a pass down the track on a bike too ??? (however the fastest I ever been on bike was 167 and that track has no bump...) and it was in 1991/92 , plus I would be a much bigger HP to Weight ratio disadvantage now.. LOL
