You are thinking of Tonya Turk. At the risk of getting whacked, they're not even close to being in the same class in every meaning of the word.

Hi Deb, I thought an exit speed would get you your AA license, but found out after Hooley's qualifying run that it didn't.  You have to average over 250 in one of the miles.  He managed to do that the next day, so he is real happy.  Hope Tonya also was able to do a mile average over 250 as she certainly deserves a AA license.

Back on the "little car" subject, I have to agree that asking $200 for something free is just absolutely outta control.  I only got one by accident.  I was wandering through there munching on a Red Flame sandwich and had one of the cars thrust into my hand.  I didn't get mine signed and I brought it back for a friend who collects Hot Wheels.  I still plan to give it to him.  I find that kind of eBay ripoff to be repulsive.

I'm glad that the seller's reserve wasn't met.  May the fleas of a thousand camels reside in the beards of those who seek profiteering.

Well I'm not sure how this all works as I'm FAR from running 250, in fact I haven't even run the long course yet, but the last speed I heard was 249 and later was told she ran a 251 out the back. Perhaps that averaged to the necessary 250? We were told that the out the back speed could be used for licensing so I'm not sure if we've experienced two different interpretations of the rule? We personally experienced subjective interpretations of the rules while we were out there but I'll save that for another post!

  No ones forcing the dude to buy it. Its not a question of survival.How will you feel if your friend sells it for even more?
 Reminds me of a contracter complaining about another builder making $50,000 per house he built, i said how would you feel if you sold your house and that person sold it for 50,000 thousand more? Thrue story.No ones forcing these people to buy these cars so its not profiteering. Selling plywood - generators-gas and food at double the prices for a coming disaster is.

Sparky averaged 303.926 in the last mile with a 303.875 exit speed on his return run, so he did average over 300 for a mile. 

Hooley on his qualifying run ran a 249.617 in the last mile with an exit speed of 252.550.  They (at the timing slip stand) told us that did not qualify him for his AA license, but maybe they were wrong.

The next day on the return run he ran a 250.273 in the last mile with a 253.874 exit speed.  That then qualified him for the AA license.  As I said we went on what we were told by one person,

The record set at Speedweek is for V4F (flathead) 82.803.  That record was open. 

The Speedweek record listing shows the car's record for V4 (overhead) 109.572.  Completely different engine class.
