Looks like fun and a good start. As is often the case, what are the toys hidden behind the tank?

That's really neat. I'd love to build one too, if a decent P-38 tank came along.

Looks like you have a '37 V8-60 axle, and you've been cleaning it up.

Here are three views of one I polished with abrasives a few years ago. I have another one that's almost finished.

Great start. Going to be one sweet ride. You have a fine shop to build it in also.
expect we will be seeing some great things from you in the future.

Just curious. How did you put the bow in the side rails?

well to get the correct angle the tank was cut in half and traced onto the floor and then a hydraulic tube bender was used with some blocks in it to try to keep the kinking in the rectangle tube to a minimum and then we just kept bending and matching it up to the mark on the floor till it matched perfect. each spot the bender was moved to was measured and recorded so when the 2nd rail was bent the bender was put in the exact same spots.. they are pretty much both dead on. the fun part is gonna be getting the crossmembers all squared and welded in.

we will be trying to go as fast as it will go... :-D  i would love to go 200 in it but its gonna be hard with a little flathead for power maybe at bonneville it might..  i think the record in maxton is in the 170's so we will be gunning for that
