The first time I ran my car it was at Maxton. The car weighs 4500 lbs. rear drum brakes only, b'ville chute, ran 179 mph and made the right turn at the end going pretty fast. In 05 we went to the Texas Mile, thought I would be smart and barrowed a 12' drag racing chute and when I pulled it at 169 mph the rear end unloaded and fish tailed, now that got my attention real quick. I won't be going to the short tracks until I put the GMC 6 banger in it.

Let's see----Need front discs--different pumpkin in the 8" diff.---drag chute--different tires--probably have to add front suspension on the lakester. That's a lot of cans and bottles.

Wonder how much the entry fee is going to be?

G'day Stay'tee
when we ran at the Casino streetfighters meeting there was 900m to accererate and 500m for braking.I had no trouble stopping from 155 to a dead stop (there is no access road.the strip was used for return)Greg only just stopped from 190.I think this setup is ok for bikes with sports bike brakes but cars might need more with the extra weight
cheers Bones
