JH, the stuff I meant is definitely NOT what you've shown us.  Yours probably is way more friendly to the DNA than what I use -- mine comes in a quart metal can that's covered with warnings and bright red lettering!  I'll have to find some like you use and see.  I don't have a can here at the house -- maybe will shoot a photo and send it to you tomorrow, just for the reference of it.

And about blue -- well, a couple of years ago Nancy gave me a roll of duct tape for the bike, labelled it "200 mph tape", and sure enough, it was blue.  Blue's good.  Just ask Bobby Vinton.

LSR list. Something that would be a great asset to this web site would be a section for getting ready, what to take for bike, car and trailer support. Also sub sections in it to list such items such as the the tape and cleaners etc. as above. It would need an index so anyone could go into the area of interest. We go through this every year and each year  and new questions and answers happen. There are a lot of personal lists and I am sure they would love to share with others in LSR.

What to do when you get home as far as clean up and what best to use. Also talking about how to handle your own safety while on the salt. This would be an active forum all year and could include  El Mirage,  Maxton, Texas mile etc. We could call it Bonneville and LSR racing Prep. or some other title. Each of the venues can be broken down for their local needs.

Lets think about this and feel it out. :-D Input from each of you might save a lot of head aches down the road for newer racers.

Glen, I've called your bluff, so to speak.  Check out the new boards I've put up -- see if you think they're labelled correctly, and maybe start the ball rolling with some of your ideas.

Hah -- at least I didn't appoint you as a moderator, although I might. . .

Down near the bottom -- in the Non-LSR section.  I just looked at 'em for the first time and re-farkled the layout, so try again.  I might have to move 'em a bit -- but it's a start.

Fred and others,

The Blue painters tape works great and also the "Low tack" Red stucco tape..

Also when taping over the lense (headlight and taillight) you can unplug the bulbs or keep them from coming on (fuse) and still be legal for the Production classes, this assist's the removal of the tape residue very well.

And just so those that do not know, you do not have to cover the entire lense with tape to be legal, all that is required is a strip in the shape of a cross or also an X.

And if you want to know why we now have to tape over the plastic see me at the salt and I will tell you about the rule and why it was changed in the rulebook.

Good luck and see you there..

J

John, how long has your "subtitle" been on your signature line?  I just noticed it -- darn near choked on my lunch sandwich.
