Sum, looking good. When you put your inner cockpit liner in there won't be as much elbow room...
Are you bringing it to speedweek for inspection or one of the later meets. Looking forward to your runs, let me know if you need pit crew help.
Hi, there won't be inner liner where the elbows are as that will be plated on the outside with .120 wall plate, which I've been told will be ok. The plate will go from the upper frame rail to the lower. Did you take a look at the air box page?? Do you think what I did is OK and do you think I'll melt it down??
I doubt it will be at speed week since I would need to then take two vehicles and I just can't see an extra $300-$400 in gas to get it inspected. I wanted to though, so will keep that option open. I'm still a little hopeful about WOS or WF might be a better chance if it happens. If you are at either of those and are available I sure might need some help as right now the crew for those meets would be me, I and myself......well maybe the dog also
.
The main things to still do on the mechanics is the electrical, hook up the rear brake (make handle and linkage to master cylinder) and install fire bottles. The really big thing is the body. I'm starting on the framework for it today. The other biggie is painting and powder coating everything before it sees the salt.
John wants me to fire the motor, but I'll leave it to last. I told him that if I fired it now and found out something was wrong with it that it would be a big let down and I might slow down
. I think it will also be easier to run the wiring after the body and bracing and everything else is done.
Keep helping Max along and see you in not that many weeks,
Sum
