Going for a 200 record
« on: July 14, 2008, 03:41:14 PM »
We are going after a record that is over 200.  Currently we hold a B License for up to 199.  To make the run legal - what do we have to do?  I asked around and I was told we had to tell the starter that we are trying for a A License and that you can set a record on a license pass?  Is this true?  Is there anything else?  I hate to get all the way there and then we missed some technicality

Well that's the plan  :-D

I read the requriements in the rule book and nothing specifically states what to do when you are crossing that line and I know it's a License change.  We haven't went over 200 yet, but I think we are on our way this season so I want to make sure we do it leagally.  Nothing would suck more than if we got the record and they say "oh you were supposed to ..........."

If you already hold the B you can run for the A on a license run..no worries just remember to take your timing ticket to the starter and have him sign it, then return to impond with it and ask for Dan Warner...he or someone will then log it and issue your A.

FYI

If you qualify for the record on your A attempt return first to impound and do not return to the pits until you have brought the vehicle and timing ticket to the person/inspector in impound...again..do NOT drive/tow your vehicle through the pits without going DIRECTLY to impond or it will void your attempt.

Good luck.

Thanks John!!

That was the kind of info I needed.  We probably would have drove around going 'whooooooo' and then it would have been voided because we didn't know any better  :-D

See ya out there this weekend!

Yes - we are going for the Production 1350cc record at El Mirage and Bonneville.  I know 'THAT' record is a hard one - but who doesn't like a challenge???  8-)

Thats kind of how I feel about it. I see there are four of us pre-entered for Speedweek in 1350 P/P. Has anybody been on the Dyno? If so what were your #s. I am going for final tune, mapping and Dyno tomorrow.

I haven't been on the dyno yet but Pat Womack just put up a 197.8MPH in P-P 1350 at El Mirage last month.  That's gotta be a solid mid-190's HP

Wow, both of those are almost 10 years old. Thats hard to believe in the "Hayabusa" class. Good luck this weekend.
