Here's some more stuff from Saturday. First of all, decent weather. Sunny, low 80's, breeze from the start to the finish (tailwind), lotsa bikes and some cars -- and a truck or two.
Charlie Anstaett did go 250 on his first run. Better still -- a rod in the shifter dropped off (pin came out of the connector) so he was gear-challenged at the end of the run. Let
s see if I can get a photo on here:
Bill Warner ran 230 + naked on his turbo 'Busa -- again, first run of his day. These nakjed bike riders are going faster every event:
Mark DeLuca showing off his haberdashery efforts:
(By the way, I did try to turn this one right side up on photobucket. Sorry, Mark -- and sorry to everyone that's seeing it sideways).
Another of Clem Roberts' sons built this diesel pickup. We haven't seen it run yet, but it's in line right now (following the lunch break):
Final two shots for now: Joe Ledford's Bonneville 2 Club roadster, and Bob Gribble's Merkur on its' first time back at Maxton after a few years of hiatus.
Speeds have been fine for such a hot day, and the only time the emergency whistle was blown was for a smoky engine incident down on the shut down. No big hu-huu, and we're racing. I'll be bck with more later.
