Motor is now in. Oh Yeah !!

Got the motor in with minimal effort. But sure a few head aches trying to squeeze all the drive systems up front in the narrow area. Alternator was a bear trying to fit in.Well here are a few pics












The alternator is low on drivers side, you can see it just behind the front tire in this last pic.

Hope to make enough progress to fire it up and drive it next week

I like that you used cardboard to prevent scraping up the firewall on the install.  It's usually at this point in the game where I tend to get careless, and therefore, tend to do touch-up work.  And the low alternator keeps the look real clean, rather than having it sticking up and out.

M.M.  yeah we tried to be careful and not scratch up the paint or poweder coating on the install.  Seems like went ok.  I had wanted my Alt. low mid mount in front of the passenger side head, but the pulley's would not line up since I had to use a short water pump to be able to run an elec puller fan/shroud.  These 33/34 Fords. or even up thourg 36's dont have any room up front and we even set the motoe back a few inches.

After it was all said and done I also like the Alt down low and out of the way, Just am not crazy about my adjustment arm, ($11.00 Mr Gasket universal piece with some good old fashion cutting, drilling and grinding to make fit..  But it works....

Hope to get finished hookinh up the engine bay wiring and plumbing early in the week and Test drive her by the weekend,, That will give me a few days to work out any bugs before Maxton ( I hope)

Man thanks to all you fine folks in the LSR world and on this site,,, I have learned how to chat, post pics and now even use that photobucket thing,,, Now if I can just get the car finished and to the track..

Hmm  For Fri. Sat, Sun  27,28, 29  of June can we order up a nice forecast?  Maybe a nice Carolina Blue Sky,   78 to 80 degrees no wind or slight tail wind breeze, all weekend !!  is that to much to ask for ?

We are still thrashing to get all the loose ends tied up so I can test drive it this weekend. If all goes OK I will be at Maxton on Friday for Tech Inspection.  The Motor Builder Brian Salter from Salter Racing Engines is also planning on being there on Saturday ( I had a few private emails asking me about him and such)

The fine little details are nagging me.  First fitting the altenator,  now the darn fuel pump fittings are hitting the frame rail. Fuel pump will not clock enough to clear.  What a pain,, I hate to use and electric pump,,, may have do some frame work (hate to do that now that the frame has been powder coated,,,well back to the drawing board.. a few more details,,, hope to get resolved tomorro so can test drive Thus or Fri.
