Nitrogen in tires
« on: October 07, 2004, 03:13:00 PM »
I've been asked why (some) racers use nitrogen instead of air in tires.  I've got lots of answers I could give, even including 'cause it's so inexpensive to get a tankfull and keep it handy instead of lugging a compressor around in the support truck.

I'd sure appreciate some good feedback to pass on to others.  Thanks. . .

Nitrogen in a tire expands 4% less when it gets hot , is dry , leaks out 30% slower and doesn't oxidize the rubber as it leaks through - Not a big deal for LSR .
