How do you "Boost Reference" a Holley Carb???
« on: May 27, 2008, 10:00:28 PM »
:? Gee, I wish someone could explain to me how in the world to boost reference a Holley carb. I am only going to run about 12 to 15 psi of boost using a GMC Blower with a little 450 cfm Holley carb. How oh How do I get myself in to these sort of fixes???

Thanks for the help the LSR community is famous for.

Terry, It's not hard to do but is important to do with smaller carbs as you can indeed pull a vacuum under them at WOT and full boost. Give me a call and I'll walk you through it. 714-572-3672

:-D Thanks Mike. I'm sure that I'll find the information VERY helpfull.

:? Now another question: On a supercharged 1500cc engine   what carb should I go with?
A 390cfm Holley with vacuum secondaries OR
A 450cfm Holley with vacuum secondaries OR
A 450cfm Holley with manual secondries.

Will vacuum operated secondaries even work with a supercharger? :?

"Boost referencing" any carb is simple:

1. Plumb each vacuum reference to the inlet.

-or-

2. Build a box around the carb and pressurize the whole thing.
