Okay, I did something wrong.  I thought I put four shots up there -- but all I see is Todd, a/k/a Narider, sitting on the floor next to Deb's bike while he was working on it and we were shooting the breeze.  Where are the other pictures?

You must have shot that photo of Todd early in the day when it was still slightly overcast, as there is not much of a reflection coming off of his head. Just make sure later on this afternoon, that he has a hat on before taking any more photos of him :-D The weather should be nice and sunny here at Maxton, later today and tomorrow.

Well - it's a quarter 'til eight, bright and sunny and crispy-cool -- must be in the high 50's right now, maybe a little warmer.  We're heading out to Mac's for breakfast (not liver mush, though) and then to the track for the 8.30 driver meeting, then a whole bunch of fun.

Yesterday the arrival times of the vehicles were worth noting -- tht a whole bunchofbikes were there by noon - three, but not many cars.  As the afternoon wore on the cars showed up - but the bike arrivals dwindled.  I'd guessing we had about 25-30 bikes and fifteen-20 cars by 5.30, when we left.  Way less than last month -- but that was a rainyweekend, so there you have it.

I'll have photos and some sped reports tonight.  Have a good day, all.

Steve Knecum came off the trailer at 204.8 on our carbureted naked Busa for a record. Mark made a shakedown run of 190 on the new stroker (First run ever on the bike). Good turnout so the lines are long. Weather good. Good Luck to all.

The runs are over for the day and the Saturday evening banquet al frescoe is coming up in a few minutes (we eat barbeque from Jerry's BBQ, right across the lawn from the motel, but it sounds better the first way, hey?), so I'll just list a few highlights.

Charlie Anstaett ran 254.136 on his blown 'Busa -- the fastest run at Maxton since Lee Shiert's 260.2 in October of '05.  And Dean Sabatinelli rode his naked 1000cc Honda turbo bike to a green 2 Club hat at 200.391 mph - the only 2 Club newbie of this day.  I see 34 bike records for today.

In cars, Rabbit Bartels drove his sfaety-green roadstar (B/BGR) to a record of 190.957, the fastest car of the day.  The #1010 Crosley convertible, running in J/GT, bumped his class record to 71.820 early this afternoon - and found some more power later on and put another 4+ mph on it later with an impressive 75.993 scamper throught the lights.  38 cars set records today.

The weather was absolutely fine.  Temps in the high 70 - low 80 range, no clouds to speak of, gentle winds from left to right, and --- wait, it doesn't get much better than that.

I took a bunch of photos and Deb and Todd Dross told me how to post 'em, but that's going to take a while and I wanted to get this first report out to you folks quickly.  I'll see about thoe photos now.

Crud -- it's 7.02 and supper's supposed to start at 7 -- and this crowd will be hungry, so Nancy and Iare going to boogie to the meal now.  See you later.

Okay, here are some more.  I tried putting in comments, but they didn't show up this time, and won't on the rest of the photos.  I don't want to mis anymore barbeque.

This new belly tanker has a 418" SBC and went a record 186.912 by the end of the day -- it's first-ever outing.

Dean Sabatinelli and his naked 1000 cc turbo Honda was today's only 2 Club newbie.  That's what, 6 riders in the naked 2 Club?

This is Charlie Anstaetter who rode to 254.136 on his turbo 'Busa.  Damn -- fastest pass at Maxton since Lee Sheirts went 260+ in October of '03.  Congratulations, Charlie!

And Steve Knecum went 204.508 on the bike that Larry Forstall was talking about a few posts back.  In the background is Mark Deluca, another rider that hangs around t\with Steve and Larry.

I won't push my luck for now.  Enjoy -- and you betcha I'll be better next time.
